I don't think that's real. I've heard that some parts of Australia do get big "bird-eating" spiders, but I'm pretty sure they're not actually that big.

I wouldn't put money on it though.

It is definitely not real because it is actually impossible for exoskeletal things to be that large and still move. Also because giant Australian spiders would kill each other if they were that close.

As a Halloween store worker, I can confirm those are cheap decorations put to amazing use (if the house is actually in Australia). The legs are the cheap fur covered wire that no one ever bends into realistic shapes.

Coconut crabs are the largest exoskeletal animals, and they can get up to 1 meter long, apparently.

Those spiders are definitely fake, but my first thought was "oh, is that house covered in coconut crabs?" Which would be far more terrifying than your average set of halloween decorations.

1 meter is much much smaller than those pictures.

Not quite, those are the largest land-living exoskeletal animals. The The Japanese Spider Crab is the overall largest arthropod by legspan and the American Lobster is the heaviest.

People scoffed at Sony's 2006 E3 presentation, but if they'd done their research they'd have realized that Japan totally has giant enemy crabs.
